Mole End

"An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered." "As he hurried along, eagerly anticipating the moment when he would be at home again among the things he knew and liked, the Mole saw clearly that he must keep to the pleasant places in which his lines were laid and which held adventure enough, in their way, to last a lifetime.

So I Was Reading...

Every morning, Papa wakes me up around 6:07. He's supposed to get me up at six, and he tries, really he does, but he gets carried away praying(which I can hardly fault him for.) I don't let myself rest for even an instant, for if I do I shall never regain that second I let lie unfilled. Then I fill a glass of water, and with Bible and pen in hand, head for the living room. I always sit in the same place, the blue upholstered chair whose back is just shy of being too tall and straight. So I was reading...and thinking...and I learned this....
When I forsake my ways and my thoughts, seek the Lord, call on Him, follow and honor Him in all I do, he will give me the desires of my heart, only He will have brought me so close to Him that my desires will have become His desires. And then I shall "go out with joy, and be led forth with peace-the mountains and the hills shall break forth before me in singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off." (Isaiah 55:12-13) And the God of the universe would make that covenant with me! All He requires is my entire heart and will, and he has given me from his own abundance all the strength and humble repentence and eager excitement and over-abundant love necessary to surrender myself completely, entirely and wholly to Him. So why am I worrying. He has it all under control, and all I have to do is yield to His unconditional love.

So that is what I was thinking.

I owe my mother this

A lot of the time, we children can obey our mothers, and be blind to the fact that we are not giving them the respect and love that they deserve. We don't mean to be rude and disrespectful, but we don't realize that they have more than earned our undying devotion. Guys especially tend to be very protective of sisters, cousins, and friends, but forget that the same passion to defend their loved ones should apply to their mothers as well. Though the following comes from a humorous email that I wanted to share, I hope that you also think of the real responsibility you have to love and honour your moms.

1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.
"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I've just finished
cleaning."

2. My mother taught me RELIGION.
"You'd better pray that will come out of the carpet."

3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of
next week!"

4. My mother taught me LOGIC.
" Because I said so, that's why."

5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC.
"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to
the shops with me."

6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT.
"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

7. My mother taught me IRONY.
"Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

8. My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS.
"Shut your mouth and eat your dinner."

9. My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM.
"Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"

10. My mother taught me about STAMINA.
"You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."

11. My mother taught me about WEATHER.
"This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it."

12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY.
"If I told you once, I 've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!"

13. My mother taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE.
"I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."

14. My mother taught me about ENVY.
"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't
have wonderful parents like you do."

15. My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION.
"Just wait until we get home."

16. My mother taught me about RECEIVING.
"You're going to get it when you get home!"

17. My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE.
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to get stuck that
way."

18. My mother taught me ESP.
"Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you are cold?"

19. My mother taught me HUMOUR.
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."

20. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT.
"If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."

21. My mother taught me about my ROOTS.
"Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"

22. My mother taught me WISDOM.
"When you get to be my age, you'll understand."

23. And my favourite: My mother taught me about JUSTICE.
"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just ... like ...
you!"
